Cat nap
By Ann | September 7, 2010

Visiting friends in Aveyron this weekend, I snapped this sleeping kitty, who evidently felt a lot like I did after eating nine courses at the three Michelin-starred Michel Bras. (Detailed post coming soon!) Add to this bites of the region’s saucisson sec, fromage de Laguiole, Roquefort, and aligot (cheesy potatoes)…. Hello, food coma!
If you’re in Paris and are curious about Aveyron’s rough and rustic, costaud cuisine, the Aveyron Fair is coming up — and worth a visit!

Fun! I had no idea an Aveyron fair existed! I should put this on the calendar.

Love the photo. Did you want to switch places with that kitten, if only for an hour? Love all the references I totally don’t get, but sound wonderful anyway.

I love the Michel Bras restaurant, one of the best meals I have ever had. I can’t wait to see your post. That was the first place I had aligot.

France wouldn’t be France without Aveyron — and the United States might not exist without one of its sons, Admiral Estaing, a French naval genius who scored victories against the British in our war for independence. So many reasons to appreciate the region!

The Averyron fair, duly noted – merci, Ann! A triple punch this post: the cute kitty, Michelin-starred dining and, for me, some new food to soon explore!

Camille and Sweet Freak — Maybe we should have an Averyon fair blogger get-together!
Sarah — Yes, I totally wanted to curl up just like this kitty. He looks so comfortable in his patch of sunlight.
Michel — Thank you! I am looking forward to reliving the meal again while writing the post.
Chris — I thought it was interesting that the Admiral was gifted with land in Georgia in thanks from the nascent United States.
