Top Chef exit interviews

By Ann | July 7, 2010

Apologies for the shameless self-promotion (yet if not here, where?) but I am very excited to be chatting with this season’s Top Chef contestants as they pack their knives and go. If you’re a Top Chef fan like me, please check out my exit interviews on the Washingtonian’s Best Bites blog. Each Friday, we’ll grill a newly axed chef-contestant on behind-the-scenes gossip like why the h*ll they didn’t taste their food. After all, as the old adage goes, if you can’t take the heat, stay out of reality TV.

I feel that since John from Michigan packed his knives after the first show, there’s no one *nice* to root for. But — it’s a fierce competition, so I guess I’ll root for charisma and talent. Need a few more episodes to decide …

Chris — So far they’re all pretty unlikeable. I love to hate Angelo.

Sweet Freak — You know you can watch the current season via iTunes, right?

With all our summer travels, I haven’t followed Top Chef so I was especially interested to catch up on the program vicariously through your coverage. It’s almost better than watching it because I don’t have to sit through commercials!
Thanks. I am enjoying the season through your column in the Washingtonian.com while we’re in London.

I love the idea of exit interviews so am quite please that you decided to self-promote. I think the exits will also give you fodder for a lot of great writing.
