It’s a book!
By Ann | January 15, 2010

So, yesterday I was in the bathroom trying to discern if certain strands of hair were white or simply just reflecting under the light (when you have black hair, it can be hard to tell), when I heard the doorbell ring. And, lo and behold, there was a DHL delivery man, with a very special package — an advance copy of Kitchen Chinese!

This morning, the doorbell rang again and it was another delivery man with another box — a whole carton of books — 30 copies!

It still feels strange seeing my name on the cover and the spine, so for now I’ll just take this opportunity to thank you, dear blog readers, for your kindness and support and interest. It gives me great joy to share this happy moment with you.
Kitchen Chinese will go on-sale February 9th, which is the same day I kick off my 5-city book tour. If you live in New York, Washington, D.C., Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County, Pasadena or Paris, I hope you will stop by a reading to say hello. I would love to see you.

Le sentiment is both surreal and exhilarating — oh what a feeling! Take the time to pinch yourself… and don’t forget a self-pat on the back. You deserve it!
Youpie!

Honoring your mom is reason enough to read Kitchen Chinese. February 9th can’t come soon enough. Best of luck to you, Ann.

Looking forward to your book coming out, it sounds wonderful. I liked the description of your book so much I let my sister know too. She lives in Greece so I hope she can get it there too, if not maybe through Amazon. Congrats!

I thought I had commented, but apparently I (lamely) read and then dashed!! So exciting for you to have the book in your hands. We have it on order for the bookstore, but I ordered my own copy so as not to deprive your other fans!
Your adrenaline must be at full throttle now, thinking about your project finally coming to life for others, and the book tour . . .it’s so great!

I do not speak fluent Yiddish but I am sure you are using the word “verklempt” correctly.
Enjoy this well deserved moment, I look forward to reading the book.
