Happy holidays!

Tomorrow, Cooking the Books goes on the road to sunny Southern California, home of the only fast food we’ll eat (In-n-Out), the world’s best Mexican restaurant (Enrique’s in Long Beach), and 70-degree December days (we’ve never known a white Christmas).

We’ve still got four recipes to go before we fulfill our 2007 cookbook obligations, so we’ll be filing reports from our satellite kitchen. It’ll be a very Barefoot-Provencal-Spanish-Moorish Christmas. (Question: Are we crazy enough to lug the three necessary cookbooks across the country?)
