Ooh-la-lentils
By Ann | December 18, 2007
Actually, there is nothing ooh-la-la about the lentil soup I made last night, but I couldn’t resist the pun. I admit, I chose the recipe from Recipes from Provence because it was labelled “easy” – simply combine lentils, water, chopped onion, garlic, a bay leaf and cloves, cook until soft and then puree. Yes, it was easy — and also very bland. I tried to perk it up with a dash of good olive oil (as recommended in the book), but to no avail. I think the leftovers will be greatly improved by Sriracha (then again, what isn’t improved by Sriracha?).
The photo above was taken this summer at the Abbaye de Senanque near Gordes, in Provence, where I bought Recipes from Provence.
